Today, as the Union Budget 2025 is about to be unveiled, LPG cylinders have become more affordable. Oil marketing companies have reduced the price of 19 kg commercial gas cylinders as of February 1, 2025. The cost has been cut by 7 rupees, bringing the price in the capital, Delhi, down to 1797 rupees from 1804 rupees. However, there's no change in the prices of domestic gas cylinders.
Lower LPG Costs from Delhi to Mumbai
According to the Indian Oil website, new prices for 19 kg commercial gas cylinders have been announced and came into effect today, February 1, 2025. Among the four major cities, Delhi sees a reduction to 1797 rupees. In Kolkata, the price has fallen to 1907 rupees from 1911. In Mumbai, it is now 1749.50 rupees compared to the previous 1756. In Chennai, prices have decreased to 1959.50 rupees, down from 1966.

The Second Reduction of 2025
Earlier, at the beginning of 2025, on January 1st, LPG cylinder prices were also reduced. Oil and gas marketing companies had cut prices by 14-16 rupees from Delhi to Mumbai for New Year. This followed a significant price hike for 19 kg gas cylinders in December of the previous year.
On December 1, in the national capital Delhi, the 19 kg LPG cylinder was priced at 1818.50 rupees, whereas in November, it was 1802 rupees. In Kolkata, prices rose from 1911.50 to 1927 rupees, from 1754.50 to 1771 rupees in Mumbai, and in Chennai, from 1964.50 to 1980.50 rupees.
Stable Prices for Domestic LPG Cylinders
While frequent changes are observed in the prices of 19 kg commercial gas cylinders, the 14 kg domestic LPG cylinder remains unchanged. As of February 1, its prices hold steady, reflecting August 1, 2024 rates. In Delhi, it's 803 rupees; in Kolkata, 829 rupees; in Mumbai, 802.50 rupees; and in Chennai, 818.50 rupees.
