A sensational case of 'love jihad' has surfaced in Kushinagar, UP. It's alleged that a man named Tabrez Alam, masquerading as Aryan Prasad, ensnared a Hindu girl in a love trap and then established a physical relationship with her. Presenting himself as a wealthy police officer, he frequently took the young woman to Lucknow. Later, he proposed marriage. An event at the wedding then revealed his true identity, leaving the girl's family astonished.
The issue pertains to a village under Ahirauli police jurisdiction. The victim's Dalit family claims Tabrez Alam lured their daughter into a love deceit by pretending to be Aryan Prasad, alleged to be a police inspector with a posting in Gorakhpur. When the family discovered their romantic involvement, they proposed marriage assuming him to be a Hindu, to which he agreed.
The set date for the wedding arrived, and while the relatives anticipated the procession on the 25th of February and had sent out invitations, the bridegroom did not show up, causing distress. Amidst the turmoil, the groom phoned, claiming his mother had a heart attack and the procession would not come - a moment that shocked everyone.
However, shortly after, the family saw the groom arriving alone in a decorated car. He arranged it all as a ruse. The family was somewhat appeased by his words and began the wedding rituals. The bridal exchange took place on the pre-decorated stage, followed by other wedding ceremonies in the pandal.
When the groom gifted the bride jewelry and clothes in the pandal, the family suspected the jewels to be fake, and their suspicions were confirmed upon verification. Arguments erupted as more of the groom's lies came to light. In the midst of this, his fake hair also fell off. As one lie after another was exposed, a search of the groom revealed the truth through an Aadhaar card found in his pocket.
It turned out that Tabrez Alam was marrying under the alias Aryan Prasad. The girl's family informed the Ahirauli police, and the arriving officers arrested him. Additional Superintendent of Police South, Abhinav Tyagi, reported they are aware of the case. With an FIR lodged, the suspect was taken into custody, and an in-depth investigation is underway.
