Explorations of Pooja Khedkar's controversial case raise new revelations every day regarding alternate cities, addresses, and differing disability certificates.

What's the Case About?

Khedkar is accused of having obtained special concessions in the UPSC examination by presenting false disability certificates, claiming visual and mental disabilities that facilitated her appointment as an IAS officer. Without these concessions, she would not have qualified as an IAS officer based on her exam scores. Khedkar delayed her mandatory medical examinations and repeatedly refused to comply. Subsequently, the UPSC declined to accept a private medical MRI report, although it was later accepted. This decision has prompted an inquiry demand from the government.

Further questions about Khedkar's age are being discussed; documentation reveals that over a three-year span, only a one-year age difference was reported. Despite challenges, UPSC brought her case before the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT), which ruled against her in February 2023. Seeking exemption in age limit for persons with benchmark disabilities, Khedkar applied to CAT in 2020 and 2023.
