In an exclusive interview with India Today TV's consulting editor Rajdeep Sardesai, Delhi's Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal launched a scathing attack on the BJP. Kejriwal claimed that Manish Sisodia, who was responsible for establishing good schools, has been unjustly incarcerated for over a year and a half. Similarly, Satyendar Jain, who initiated the Mohalla Clinics, has been imprisoned. He revealed that messages have been sent to Sisodia and Jain inside jail suggesting they could secure their bail if they join the BJP. Who orchestrates such deals?
For nearly two years, Satyendar Jain has been denied bail, as has Manish Sisodia. You've also been kept by the agency in jail, so how can you blame everything on Modi ji?
Confronted with this question, Kejriwal inquired if there has been any actual scandal. He pointed out the inconsistency in accusations, with figures ranging from one hundred to eleven hundred crore rupees in alleged scams. Yet, after over 500 raids, not a single new rupee or property could be traced. The money didn’t simply vanish; it should have been spent somewhere.
Addressing the issue of being denied bail,
CM Kejriwal remarked
that the pertinent question is why they are not being granted bail. According to him, a recent law instituted by Modi three years ago has overturned the established legal process. Previously, alleged crimes were investigated, and, post-investigation, a trial would ensue leading judges to determine guilt or innocence. It was only after a guilty verdict that an individual would be sentenced to jail. However, the new procedure results in imprisonment immediately upon accusation, followed by an investigation and trial, with the accused remaining in jail until proven innocent. Kejriwal ascribes this drastic change in the legal system to policies implemented by Modi.

Kejriwal reiterated the distressing situation of Sisodia and Jain, pressured with messages insinuating bail opportunities tied to a potential alliance with the BJP. He condemned this law as being crafted for the sole purpose of obliterating the opposition and eradicating democratic foundations by coercing members into the ruling party.
