Kashmiri Man Handed Over to Family After Temple Incident

On Sunday, a Kashmiri man detained for attempting to pray within the Ayodhya Ram Temple complex was released to his family by the police. This decision followed the family's submission of medical records indicating his mental illness.

  Ahmed Sheikh, a resident of Jammu and Kashmir’s Shopian district, was taken into custody by security forces after being seen preparing to pray inside the temple complex.

Family Presented Medical Reports

City Superintendent of Police, Chakrapani Tripathi, reported that Sheikh's family arrived in Ayodhya on Saturday evening, informing police of his mental illness. They provided supporting medical documents, leading to the man's release to them.

Questioning of Kashmiri Youths

As part of the investigation, police also questioned some Kashmiri youths selling shawls in Ayodhya. According to the police, they found no objectionable items. Their identities were verified, and they were subsequently released with their belongings.

Security Agencies Remain Vigilant

Senior police officials noted that while the security agencies stay vigilant, there is currently no further action being taken in this case.
