A case has been registered in Mysore against RTI activist Snehamayi Krishna, who complained against Chief Minister Siddaramaiah in the famous MUDA case in Karnataka. The case was filed at Nanjangud police station.
Lavanya, a woman, has accused Snehamayi Krishna of attempting to assault her, dragging her, using obscene language, and threatening her with death in collaboration with accused Daba Jayakumar. The complaint also mentions threats made to Lavanya and her mother.
Why was the case filed against the RTI activist?
Prabha and Siddappa have also been named as accused. Lavanya alleges that the attack happened when she was returning from court with her mother. She claims the harassment stems from money and jewelry disputes following her late husband's death, with Snehamayi Krishna allegedly working on behalf of her in-laws. Lavanya's husband died of a heart attack in 2020.

It should be noted that two activists from Bengaluru, Pradeep Kumar SP and TJ Abraham, along with Mysore activist Snehamayi Krishna, had filed a complaint against Siddaramaiah with Governor Thawar Chand Gehlot.
In separate complaints, the three alleged that Siddaramaiah misused his position to acquire land from MUDA in the third and fourth phases of Vijayanagar Layout.
Based on these complaints, Governor Thawar Chand Gehlot approved a case against CM Siddaramaiah. He ordered proceedings under Section 17A of the Prevention of Corruption Act and Section 218 of the Indian Civil Security Code (BNSS).
What is the MUDA scam all about?
When the government acquires land, it compensates by providing land elsewhere. The alleged MUDA scam is related to this compensation. This entire case involves 14 premium sites given as compensation to Siddaramaiah's wife BM Parvathi in Mysore.
There are accusations that Siddaramaiah and his wife Parvathi illegally acquired land from MUDA. It is claimed that the scam amounts to Rs 4,000 crores.
The plot in question is 3.16 acres in Kesarugou Village. In 2005, this land was transferred to Siddaramaiah's brother-in-law Mallikarjun Swamy Devaraj. It is alleged that in 2004, Mallikarjun Swamy, with the help of government officials and fake documents, illegally got the land registered in his name.
