Amid the reverent Kanwar Yatra, eateries and fruit sellers along the pilgrimage route in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand have been advised to conspicuously display their name signs. While some political factions oppose this directive, the All India Muslim Jamaat has shown their support, fostering a harmonious environment.

National President of the All India Muslim Jamaat, Maulana Shahabuddin Rizvi Bareilvi, expressed that the Saharanpur police advisory is meant to preserve law and order during this sacred journey, and is aimed at preventing Hindu-Muslim disputes.

Increased Separation Warned by Deoband

Deoband scholars, like Mufti Asad Qasmi, caution that such measures may create division, offering opportunities for the intolerant to incite trouble. Mufti Qasmi appeals to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to reconsider the policy, emphasizing the tradition of Muslim camps aiding Hindu pilgrims, thus nurturing communal harmony.

Mandatory Name Signs for Stalls and Shops

Yogi's government requires stalls and shops on the Kanwar path to bear name signs, aiding pilgrims in identifying purchase points. Ensuring the purity of the pilgrims' faith journey is paramount, and the Chief Minister's Office insists on transparency in shop ownership and even suggests against selling products with Halal certification.

Significant 240 Kilometer Route Through Muzaffarnagar

Muzaffarnagar is pivotal due to its extensive route. Police directives have led shops to proudly display names and offered wares. Clear identification, like 'Arif Mango Seller' and 'Nisar Fruit Seller', can now be seen, preventing any confusion.

Measure Taken to Avoid Confusion

Western UP police officials have commenced preparations for the Kanwar Yatra, directing all food vendors to clearly showcase their names or those of their proprietors on boards. This transparent approach prevents any confusion among the pilgrims, maintaining peace and order.
