On Sunday evening, in the Hanspuram area of Kanpur's Naubasta district, a young man working in an undergarment factory faced a tragic accident. His neck got trapped in the lift, leading to his untimely demise. Chaos erupted in the factory following the incident. The employees immediately alerted the factory owner and the police. Subsequently, firefighting and police teams arrived at the scene, and after nearly an hour's effort, the body was retrieved.
The deceased was identified as Pawan Paswan, a resident of Bugahi Bhatta in Babupurwa. He had been working at Anand Agarwal's undergarment factory in Hanspuram for the past two and a half years. According to information, around 6 PM on Sunday, while Pawan was transferring bundles of clothes to the upper floor using the lift, the lift door suddenly slammed shut, trapping his neck inside while his body remained outside. Instantly, the lift ascended, causing his death on the spot.

Family Demands Action Against Factory Owner
Upon learning of the accident, the family rushed to the factory, heartbroken at the sight of their son’s body. The death of their only son left mother Rani and sister Swati devastated. The family is demanding action against the factory owner.
ADCP South Yogesh Kumar stated that post-mortem has been conducted and the final rites performed. An FIR has been registered based on the family’s complaint, and an investigation is ongoing. The cause of death is attributed to the head getting caught in the lift.
