In Kannauj, Uttar Pradesh, former block chief Nawab Singh Yadav was arrested on charges of raping a minor girl. He is currently in jail. Today, the police have also arrested the victim's aunt. It is alleged that when Nawab Singh Yadav committed the crime, the victim's aunt was outside the room and did not help even when the victim called for help.
On the night of August 11, former block chief Nawab Singh Yadav allegedly raped a minor in his college premises in Kannauj. The victim's aunt was also accused in this case. She had been absconding. On Wednesday morning, the police arrested her and uncovered several crucial details during interrogation.
The police apprehended the victim's aunt around 5 AM on Wednesday morning on her way to her maternal home in Rampur Binoura village. Superintendent of Police Amit Kumar Anand informed that the arrested aunt had known the accused Nawab Singh Yadav for about five to six years, and they had a physical relationship.

During questioning, the woman revealed that when the victim went for a medical examination, Nawab Singh Yadav's brother offered her a bribe to not record a statement and to name certain individuals to divert the investigation.
The victim's aunt reveals these details during police interrogation
During questioning conducted by the police, the victim's aunt revealed that on the night of August 11, Nawab Singh Yadav had called her, asking her to come. At that time, she was in Lucknow with her niece, and she informed Yadav of this. She later arrived at Yadav's college at night.
Regarding this case, Superintendent of Police Amit Kumar Anand said that after the incident, the girl called the emergency number 112 to report the matter. A team from 112 and the Kotwali police reached the spot. Based on the complaint, a case was registered, and Nawab Singh Yadav was arrested.
Raped under the pretext of offering a job
It is alleged that Nawab Singh Yadav, who runs a private educational institution and is a former block chief, raped the minor girl under the pretext of offering her a job. After a court order, the police took his DNA sample on Friday. A team of doctors, accompanied by the police, went to the district jail to collect the sample.
With her parents' consent, the victim underwent a medical examination, which confirmed the rape. She stated in her magistrate statement that she had been raped. Following the confirmation of the rape, additional charges were filed against the accused.
