The campaign for the Lok Sabha elections is underway, with parties from BJP to the opposition lobbing accusations of nepotism at each other. Yet, there are families whose members are actively involved in distinct political outfits. One such family is that of former Finance Minister Yashwant Sinha. Notably, Yashwant Sinha was associated with TMC, while his son Jayant Sinha is a prominent leader in the BJP. Latest reports say that Jayant's son, Ashir Sinha, has been seen at a Congress (India Block) event in Jharkhand. Amidst heated politics, Congress has offered clarifications.
Just two days ago, India Block organized a rally in Barhi, Hazaribagh, attended by figures from Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge to Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) leader Kalpana Soren, who is currently incarcerated. Significant chatter has emerged in Jharkhand's political sphere following Ashir Sinha's presence at a rival party's event, stirring talks of possible ideological shifts within the family. This speculation is inflamed by BJP's decision to stand Manish Jaiswal for Hazaribagh, a seat long considered a BJP bastion.

Despite distancing himself from the election campaign, current MP Jayant Sinha, a prominent BJP figure, made a visit when Manish Jaiswal was declared the candidate in March. Jayant Sinha had posted on X, 'Today, BJP candidate Manish Jaiswal from Hazaribagh Lok Sabha met with me. I extend my heartfelt wishes for the election. We will ensure the lotus blooms with a record margin.' Additionally, he had announced his departure from election politics just before the ticket announcement. Yashwant Sinha, too, has been a significant fixture for Hazaribagh and has played a role in his son's victories during his tenure.
The ongoing developments have led to speculation about potential dissatisfaction of Yashwant Sinha with the BJP. Recently, he openly supported India Block's candidate JP Patel against the BJP and has been increasingly seen criticizing the party. This has fueled conversations within Hazaribagh about the Sinha family's political alignment. Jharkhand Pradesh Congress chief Rajesh Thakur emphasizes that Ashir's attendance at the rally does not signify joining Congress, stating he was there as Yashwant Sinha's representative.
