Tarun Saxena, a 42-year-old resident of Gumnaura Pichor, Navabad Police Station area, was an area manager at a finance company. He had a daughter and a son, and his father is a retired clerk from a medical college. This morning, when the maid came to work, she found Tarun hanging in a room. His wife and children were in another room.
The maid alerted the family, and chaos ensued. The family called the police, who arrived at the scene and took the body into custody.
The police found a 5-page suicide note and a laptop near the deceased. According to the family and the note, company officials had been persistently pressuring Tarun to meet recovery targets and threatening him if he failed. This had left Tarun extremely distressed for the past two months, which he had shared with his family.
Before his death, Tarun had a video conference with company officials. The circumstances of what transpired during the meeting that led to his suicide are under investigation.
According to Tarun's brother, Gaurav Saxena, company officials were pressuring Tarun to maximize market collections and threatened to cut his salary if targets were not met. During a video conference at 6:00 AM with officials from Bhopal, he was allegedly incited to commit suicide, leading him to take this drastic step.
Superintendent of Police, Gyanendra Kumar, stated that Tarun Saxena, 42, was a resident of Gumnaura, Navabad Police Station area, and worked as an area manager at a finance company. He committed suicide by hanging himself with a scarf. The police received information from family members, promptly reaching the scene and taking the body into custody for post-mortem.
A suicide note found near the body accused senior officials of harassment and overburdening targets. If a complaint is received from the family, a legal investigation will be conducted.
