Near a petrol station in Jaipur, a horrifying scene unfolded when a CNG truck collided fiercely with an LPG truck. In the ensuing inferno, over 40 vehicles succumbed to the blaze. Tragically, a bus was caught in the fiery chaos, resulting in a panicked scramble as six passengers were consumed by the flames. More than 40 individuals are reported injured, with many being treated at Jaipur's SMS Hospital. Fire engines swiftly arrived at the scene and are vigorously combating the persistent blaze.
According to reports, this heart-wrenching accident occurred due to negligence, as a CNG tanker was driving on the wrong side and collided with the LPG truck. This single moment of carelessness led to a catastrophic event that nobody could have foreseen. Observing the bus's condition provides insight into the passengers' perilous experiences.
An eyewitness recounted that a vehicle was making a turn when the oncoming truck crashed into it, causing both vehicles to collide. He noted that he has been at the scene since 5:55 AM and has already extracted five bodies. He mentioned that numerous speeding vehicles were also engulfed by the flames.
The Tragedy on the Jaipur-Ajmer Highway
The incident occurred around 6 AM on the Jaipur-Ajmer Highway. Some 20-22 fire brigades have been tirelessly working to control the fire, which still rages on even after two and a half hours. The volatile materials from both vehicles intensified the destruction, stretching over a kilometer of highway, leaving scorched vehicles scattered in the aftermath.
What Jaipur's DM Had to Say?
Jaipur's District Magistrate Jitendra Soni reported that approximately 40 vehicles were engulfed in flames. Fire brigades and ambulances rapidly reached the site, where relief and rescue operations are ongoing. The fire has been mostly contained, with only 1-2 vehicles still alight. About 23-24 people were injured in the incident and have been admitted to the hospital for treatment.

CM Bhajanlal Expresses Condolences
Meanwhile, CM Bhajanlal Sharma expressed deep condolences over the disaster. He himself visited Jaipur's SMS Hospital to check on the injured. The CM tweeted on X platform that he felt deeply saddened upon hearing the tragic news of civilian casualties owing to the gas tanker fire on the Jaipur-Ajmer National Highway. He rushed to SMS Hospital to direct doctors to provide immediate medical facilities and ensure proper care for the injured. The administration is consistently carrying out rescue efforts.
The CM further stated that the local administration and emergency services are fully engaged. He prayed to the Almighty to give peace to the departed souls, strength to the grieving families to bear this immense loss, and wished for the injured a speedy recovery.
