The Shahroud Space Center, or more aptly, the missile testing and production base located in Iran's Semnan province, lay decimated after an Israeli airstrike. This was the very hub from which Iran launched hundreds of missiles towards Israel in April and October. Israeli fighter jets traversed a staggering 2000 km to obliterate this strategic base.

Clear satellite imagery reveals the destruction of Shahroud Center's main building. At the beginning of this month, approximately 200 missiles were launched from the Shahroud Space Center towards Israel, most originating from this site. Despite the damage, the Iranian government or the IRGC have remained tight-lipped.

80% of Ballistic Missiles' Solid Fuel Destroyed

Just before Israel’s strike, Iran was aware that the attack could occur in Ilam, Khuzestan, and Tehran provinces. However, they hadn't anticipated Israel targeting their rural Semnan base and space center. The result? An 80% depletion in ballistic missile solid fuel, significantly limiting Iran's offensive capabilities.

Shahroud Space and Missile Center Lies 370 km from Tehran

Missile expert Fabian Hinz of the International Institute for Strategic Studies suggests that while the extent of damage is clear, gauging its full impact is challenging. The Shahroud base, situated 370 kilometers northeast of Tehran, saw its largest building destroyed during the Israeli assault. The Parachin Military Complex also suffered damages.

Hypersonic Missiles Stored in the Annihilated Center?

It's quite possible that, according to satellite imagery, tall mounds of soil seen surrounding the obliterated building indicate that something significant was stored here. These mounds suggest an attempt to shield against explosions affecting nearby structures, indicating storage of dangerous explosives.

There’s also speculation about the presence of Iran's Khaibar Shekan ballistic missiles or Fateh-1 missiles, known for their hypersonic attack speed, with Iran deploying them in both April and October strikes. Furthermore, the air defense system protecting this center was also neutralized by the Israeli airstrike.
