Israel is currently engaged in multiple conflicts. It is simultaneously striking against Iran, Hezbollah, Hamas, and Yemen's Houthi rebels. Reports indicate that following actions against Hezbollah, Israel has now attacked Houthi rebel bases in Yemen.
The Israeli military announced that on Sunday afternoon, Israeli fighter jets conducted dozens of attacks on Houthi rebel bases in the port city of Hodeidah, Yemen.
The IDF disclosed that under the direction of the Director of Israeli Military Intelligence, the Air Force carried out extensive operations on Sunday, targeting Houthi rebel bases in Ras Issar and Hodeidah. The military's statement said, "The IDF targeted power plants and a port used for importing oil."
‘IDF Will Continue Its Operations’
The IDF stated that it will act against anyone posing a threat to Israeli citizens and will continue to take action regardless of the distance required. The Israeli military said that the Air Force attacked Houthi rebel bases in Yemen, approximately 1,800 kilometers away from the Israeli border.
‘Response to Houthi Attacks’
The military revealed that this assault was in response to recent Houthi attacks on Israel. Over the past year, the Houthi rebels, under the direction and funding of Iran, with the cooperation of Iraqi militia, have been working to harm Israel, destabilize the region, and disrupt the freedom of navigation.
The IDF remains determined to act against any threat to Israeli citizens and to inflict harm on such threats, regardless of the distance involved.
Meanwhile, Houthi rebel leaders claimed on Saturday night that surface-to-surface missiles were launched into central Israel just hours before Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu returned to the country from the United States.
IDF Airstrikes in Gaza
Additionally, the Israeli military has carried out airstrikes in Gaza, resulting in the death of 11 Palestinians. Health officials in the enclave reported on Sunday that Israeli planes bombarded multiple northern, central, and southern areas.
Gaza doctors reported that a school sheltering displaced Palestinians in Beit Lahia, northern Gaza Strip, was also hit by Israeli attacks, resulting in the deaths of four people and injuring many others.
The Israeli military stated that it attacked Hamas terrorists operating from a command center at the former Um al-Fahm school. The military accused Hamas of exploiting civilian facilities and populations for military purposes, which Hamas denied.
Doctors reported that three people were killed in another attack on a house in Gaza City. Four more people died in separate airstrikes in Nusirat and Khan Younis in the central and southern parts of Gaza Strip.
Residents and Hamas media reported that Israeli security forces conducted operations in Rafah near Egypt's border and the Zaitoun suburb of Gaza City, where several homes were destroyed.
