In a sensational twist, two individuals have been detained in connection with the grenade attack at the residence of BJP leader Manoranjan Kalia in Jalandhar, Punjab. The Special DGP for Law and Order, Arpit Shukla, confirmed that the e-rickshaw employed in the dastardly act has also been seized. The Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) of Pakistan reportedly orchestrated this plot to incite communal unrest in Punjab. However, quick police action thwarted this scheme.
The police unraveled the conspiracy within a staggering 12 hours of the attack. The nefarious conspiracy, significantly plotted by incarcerated gangster Lawrence Bishnoi and Pakistan-based gangster Shehzad Bhatti's accomplice, Zeeshan Akhtar, has come to light. Probes into potential ties with Babbar Khalsa International are ongoing. Alongside the arrests, the recovery of the e-rickshaw symbolizes a breakthrough.
Punjab police are in communication with central agencies to explore this matter further. Numerous raids are ongoing at various locations. When queried about the accused, the officials confirmed, "More information will be disclosed soon." However, specifics about identities have been withheld to avoid compromising the investigation. On being asked about Zeeshan's involvement in a past murder case, confirmation was provided, "Yes, you're spot on."

The explosion on Tuesday morning left the aluminum facade of BJP leader Manoranjan Kalia's residence in Jalandhar damaged, with shattered windowpanes and dented vehicles including an SUV and a motorcycle. Remarkably, no casualties were reported. Kalia, the former Cabinet Minister and ex-Punjab BJP President, was home during the incident. He also holds a prestigious position in the BJP's National Executive Committee.
PJalandhar has witnessed unprecedented incidents lately. Among these, the Tuesday attack stands out as the first time a prominent political figure's residence was targeted.
