The FBI's arrest of Babbar Khalsa terrorist Harpreet Singh, also known as Happy Pasia, has revealed connections to the notorious Kumbh attack plot. A close friend and handler of Lazar Masih, a key figure intending to execute the attack, Happy Pasia was implicated by India's UP Special Task Force (UPSTF), which claimed involvement from the ISI.

The UPSTF's interrogation discovered that a conspiracy for the Kumbh attack was jointly crafted by the ISI and Babbar Khalsa International (BKI). Happy's involvement was unearthed during the investigation of Lazar Masih, who was reportedly acted in concert with foreign handlers.

In their report, it was revealed that Lazar Masih, through an intermediary known as Rahul aka Kaka in the USA, established contact with Harpreet Singh (Happy Pasia). He allegedly received supplies of hand grenades, a Chinese pistol, and heroin from Masih. Happy's associate, Harvinder Singh aka Rinda, was identified in plots with the ISI aiming to carry out terrorist activities across Punjab and Uttar Pradesh.

During interrogations with the UPSTF, further revelations were made about the facilitators behind the Kumbh attack, including efforts from Germany-based Swaran Singh aka Jeevan Fauji, along with terrorists stationed in Pakistan like Harvinder Singh aka Rinda.

Upon arriving in India, Lazar Masih operated under the radar, maintaining direct communications with ISI handlers Sultan Jatt and Rana concerning the attack. It is suggested that Rinda and Happy arranged Masih's contacts with these handlers. On March 6, 2025, UPSTF successfully apprehended Lazar in Kokhraj, Kaushambi, amid ongoing investigations.
