The tension between Israel and Iran is escalating, with Israel repeatedly launching strikes on Iran. The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) claimed a significant attack on a crucial nuclear site in Isfahan last night. The Israeli Air Force (IAF) described this assault as a direct hit against the nuclear weapons development process.
IDF spokesman Brigadier General Effi Defrin announced on X that their forces conducted deep strikes on nuclear sites in Isfahan and western Iran, targeting processes of uranium reconversion. This step comes after the enrichment stage in nuclear weapons manufacturing. He added that this conflict commenced with targeting this site earlier and was again extensively destroyed last night, solidifying their initial success further.
According to Reuters, Ali Shamkhani, close to Iran's Supreme Leader Khamenei, claimed he barely survived an Israeli assault. He stated, "I had to live to remain the reason for the enemy's hatred." On Saturday morning, Israel warned of missile attacks from Iran, triggering sirens in various areas, including Tel Aviv, and intercept actions observed in the sky. Thankfully, there were no casualties reported.
Israel also claimed to have eliminated Saeed Izadi, the chief of Iran's Quds Force Palestinian Corps, in an airstrike over the city of Qom, Iran. Israel's Defense Minister, Israel Katz, hailed it as a significant success for Israeli intelligence and the Air Force. They accused Izadi of providing funds and weapons to Hamas before the war started in Gaza on October 7, 2023. While Iranian media did not mention Izadi, they confirmed the death of five Revolutionary Guards in Khorramabad attacks. Additionally, a 16-year-old youth was reported dead, and two others injured in an attack on a building in Qom.
Targeting Nuclear Facilities
Iran's Fars News Agency reported that Israel targeted the nuclear facility in Isfahan but assured there was no hazardous radiation leakage. The Israeli military confirmed striking missile storage and launch sites.
Escalation Over Nuclear Program
Since June 13, Israel initiated attacks on Iran, claiming Iran was developing nuclear weapons. In retaliation, Iran launched drone and missile attacks, asserting that its program is solely for peaceful purposes.
