Ingenious Engineers Arrested for 150 Crore Online Betting Fraud

The Alwar Police have arrested three engineers for defrauding 150 crore INR through online betting. They had created 30 fake websites and connected roughly 60,000 people. Mastermind Nitin Paliwal launched the betting platform during the COVID era. Police have confiscated mobiles, laptops, and an SUV.

The Alwar Police have unveiled a massive online betting racket and arrested three engineering youths. These accused have defrauded more than 150 crore INR nationwide by creating fake websites. They had over 30 sites that facilitated betting on games like cricket, IPL, casino, and matka.

According to the police, over 60,000 active betting IDs have been discovered with the gang, with most IDs located in Uttar Pradesh. The arrested include Nitin Paliwal, Mahesh Sharma, and Piyush Sharma, all of whom have graduated from renowned engineering colleges.

The Revelation of an Online Betting Gang

Additional Police Superintendent Dr. Tejpal Singh explained that mastermind Nitin Paliwal initiated the betting platform during the unemployment surge of the COVID pandemic. Mahesh and Piyush later joined him and managed website operations, transactions, and network expansion.

The police have seized 6 mobile phones, 2 laptops, a hard drive, 15 ATM cards, and an SUV from the accused. They used the betting earnings to open a Dugout Sports Club and purchase a large plot of land.

Arrest of Three Ingenious Engineers

Their network spread across Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Haryana, Punjab, Delhi, and other parts of the country, as well as overseas. The police have taken them into custody until June 6 and have informed the Income Tax Department and other agencies.
