Following the Pahalgam attack and India's suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty, Pakistan finds itself in a heightened state of anxiety. As speculation mounts over possible military actions from India, Pakistan is actively seeking assistance, turning to China, Saudi Arabia, and the UK.

In this tense atmosphere, Pakistani Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has reached out to China's Foreign Minister for support. Dar has also initiated conversations with UK's Foreign Minister David Lammy and regional counterparts to discuss these developments.

Local reports confirm that Dar spoke with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, apprising him of the current situation. According to a statement from Dar’s office, both leaders opposed unilateral actions and dominative policies. The statement described India's actions as propaganda against Pakistan.

The Chinese government newspaper, Global Times, stated that the phone call was made at Pakistan's request and supported an impartial investigation. The hope is for India and Pakistan to exercise restraint.

On April 22, a terrorist attack in Pahalgam resulted in the deaths of 26 individuals, with 17 others injured. The attackers targeted the Baisaran Valley, selecting victims meticulously.

In response to the Pahalgam attack, under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, India's Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) decided to suspend the Indus Waters Treaty indefinitely. This marks a significant and unprecedented action taken by India; previous wars between the two nations had never resulted in such a suspension.

The Ministry of External Affairs announced the suspension, stating it will remain until Pakistan ceases its support for cross-border terrorism.
