The culmination of the Bharat Jodo Justice March, led by Congress leader and MP from Wayanad, Rahul Gandhi, was marked in Mumbai. Gandhi kicked off the 'Justice Pledge March' from Mahatma Gandhi's residence in South Mumbai on Sunday morning, accompanied by Priyanka Gandhi and Mahatma Gandhi's great-grandson, Tushar Gandhi. During this event, Rahul Gandhi questioned why hatred is being spread in a nation that claims to be the land of love. He underlined that while the BJP is accused of spreading hate, there must be some foundation to this hatred. He spoke against daily injustices faced by the poor, farmers, Dalits, women, and youth.
Gandhi pointed out the wrap up of the March on Saturday, emphasizing that it marks not the end, but the beginning of a crusade for justice. Throughout the march, he witnessed the severe injustices and oppression faced by all sections of society, taking with him the aspirations and dreams he saw in the eyes of the citizens.
Further asserting his reinforced belief, Gandhi stated that justice is the foremost need of the country and that the Congress party's dedicated 5-point justice agenda is the lifeline for India during these trying times. With the election bugle sounded, he rallied the 'Congress lions' to not rest until the government—in his view synonymous with injustice—is uprooted.
The Congress MP declared their election campaign would focus on grassroots issues directly affecting the public. Dedicated to employment for youth, rights for women, fair prices for farmers, respect for laborers, and stakeholding for the marginalized, the campaign will light the torches of justice and carry the message to every village and street.
