Following the general elections, by-polls were held for 13 assembly seats across 7 states, which have seen the India Block make a sensational show of strength, while the BJP faced setbacks, securing only 2 seats. Congress dazzled in the mountainous states of Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh, while Mamata's party TMC scored a resounding victory in West Bengal. On the other hand, BJP managed to secure a seat each in Madhya Pradesh and Himachal Pradesh, and Punjab saw AAP win a seat.

On 10th July, the by-elections took place across various constituencies — from Amarawada in Madhya Pradesh, Rupouli in Bihar, Jalandhar West in Punjab, to Ranaghat South, Raiganj, Bagda, and Maniktala in West Bengal, Himachal's Hamirpur, Dehra, and Nalagarh, Uttarakhand's Badrinath and Mangalore, and Vikravandi in Tamil Nadu. Congress won 4 seats, TMC 4, BJP 2, and AAP, DMK, and an Independent candidate claimed one each.

Congress candidates Kazi Nizamuddin from Mangalore and Lakpat Singh Butola from Badrinath have both emerged winners in their respective constituencies in Uttarakhand against their BJP rivals. While in Himachal Pradesh, Congress's strong performance led to victories in two out of three seats, BJP secured one seat in Hamirpur.

In a stunning sweep in Bengal, TMC candidates - Mukut Mani Adhikari, Krishna Kalyani, Madhuparna Thakur, and Manikatala - decisively outperformed their BJP competitors. Meanwhile, BJP’s Kamlesh Shah from Amarwada won against Congress in Madhya Pradesh. In Bihar, Independent candidate Shankar Singh achieved a surprising victory in Rupouli constituency.
