From Reasi to Naushera, Kathua to Doda - A Crescendo of Terror Activity Wounds Jammu, 12 Soldiers Martyred in a Month

The chain of terrorist attacks in Jammu and Kashmir refuses to cease, with 7 major incidents in the past month targeting both the army and civilians.

In the past month, there has been a dramatic surge in terrorist actions in Jammu and Kashmir. Firstly, on June 9, terrorists targeted a bus full of pilgrims in Jammu's Reasi area, resulting in 9 fatalities. Next, terrorists aimed at an army vehicle in Kathua on July 8, leading to 5 brave soldiers laying down their lives.

At Naushera on July 10, terrorists attempted to infiltrate Indian territory, but their attempts were thwarted. Sadly, on July 16, an encounter with terrorists led to the martyrdom of 4 soldiers and the death of one police officer. In the past month alone, terrorists have conducted 7 major assaults, where 12 soldiers have been martyred, and 9 civilians have perished.

Reasi: The Bus Attack

In Reasi near Katra, a 53-seat bus carrying pilgrims to the Mata Vaishno Devi Temple was attacked by terrorists on the evening of June 9. Following the attack, the bus plunged into a ravine, leading to the death of 9 people, including a minor, and injuring 41 others. The passengers aboard were from Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Delhi. The assailants who attacked the bus were hidden in the hilly terrain.

Kathua: A Braveheart Fallen

On June 11, terrorists infiltrated a village in Kathua of Jammu and Kashmir. The ensuing encounter between the terrorists and security forces led to the neutralization of two terrorists. An operation by the security forces commenced post the terrorist assault in the village. During this operation in Hirangar sector's Saida Sukhal village, one CRPF soldier was martyred.

Doda: A Terrorist Neutralized

On June 12, terrorists initiated gunfire at a temporary operating base of the army in Jammu and Kashmir's Doda district. During this confrontation, two soldiers were wounded, while one terrorist was neutralized, and one civilian was injured. Following the events in Reasi and Kathua, this was the region's third terror attack within three days.

Kulgam: Two Soldiers Martyred

In the encounters on July 6 in two villages of Kulgam, Jammu and Kashmir, 2 soldiers were martyred, including Lance Naik Pradeep Nain, a Para Commando, and Havaldar Raj Kumar of the RR.

Kathua: Assault on Army Vehicle

On July 8, terrorists staged an attack in Kathua of Jammu and Kashmir, causing the martyrdom of five soldiers. The terrorists attacked an army vehicle in the evening, throwing grenades and opening fire indiscriminately. Reports suggest that 2-3 terrorists were behind this attack.

Naushera: Terrorists Repelled

On July 10, terrorists tried to breach the Indian territory in Naushera sector, Rajouri. A group of suspects attempted to infiltrate during the night but were successfully repelled by vigilant security forces.

Rajouri: Army Camp Attacked

On July 7 in Rajouri, Jammu Kashmir, an army camp fell under terrorist fire, injuring one soldier. The security outpost, alert to the threat, also opened fire on the terrorists. Despite the soldier's injury, the terrorists took advantage of the night to escape.
