In the United States, there's been a noticeable increase in attacks against Hindu temples and followers, stirring fear and concern amongst Indian-Americans. In the midst of this, Indian-American Congressman Shri Thanedar has fiercely countered those who deny the existence of Hindu-phobia.

Addressing a press conference, Shri Thanedar stated that these incidents are not just a matter of concern for Hindus or Indian-Americans but have become a concern for the entirety of America.

'You are aware that in schools, Sikhs wearing turbans are eyed with hate. There's a growing hatred against children of Indian descent. Hindu temples are being destroyed. We have pictures and videos as proof,' Thanedar articulated.

While responding to those denying the rising Hindu-phobia, Thanedar continued, 'There's an Indian embassy in California which was set ablaze. What more proof is needed?'

No Action Taken

Speaking with a news agency away from the event, Thanedar expressed, 'We've witnessed multiple attacks on Hindu temples in America. It's time for us all to unite against this. Local agencies are not taking strict action, and no arrests have been made.'

Mentioning recent temple attacks, he added, 'We've seen several such incidents in recent months. I believe this is just the beginning, and the entire community must stand together. I will always stand with you.'

Having grown up in a Hindu family, Thanedar mentioned his understanding of Hinduism, 'It's a very peaceful religion. However, this community is often misrepresented, misunderstood, and sometimes that seems to be done intentionally.'

Thanedar alleged that the incidents are increasing across America, including in New York and California, with local agencies failing to take action, fostering fear in the Indian-American community.

In fact, attacks on Hindu temples in America have escalated. Earlier this year in January, a temple in California was targeted by Khalistan supporters, who vandalized the property and painted offensive slogans. This incident followed a similar attack on a temple in Newark a few weeks prior.
