In the midst of growing tensions between India and Pakistan, a young man from Uttar Pradesh's Sambhal district posted a provocative message on Instagram, declaring his unwavering support for Pakistan, come what may. As the post gained traction online, authorities swiftly acted to arrest the accused, Mohammad Riaz, and charged him with sedition.

The Home Ministry has issued advisories to state governments, urging vigilant monitoring of social media for any anti-national propaganda. Stringent actions are to be taken against those stoking unrest on digital platforms. The situation between India and Pakistan remains volatile, with both nations exchanging hostile rhetoric.

Within this charged atmosphere, Mohammad Riaz of Bahjoi, Uttar Pradesh, caused a stir by posting a status in support of Pakistan, complete with the Pakistani flag. His statement, "No matter what happens, our support will always be for Pakistan," alarmed many.

Soon after the incident came to the notice of SP KK Bishnoi, CO Alok Sidhu was instructed to take immediate action. The police's social media team traced the account to Mohammed Riaz, a resident of Bahjoi's Quraishiyan area, and promptly apprehended him.

Mohammad Riaz now faces charges of sedition. The intelligence units are interrogating him to gather information. SP's surveillance uncovered the contentious post, highlighting the need for diligence in monitoring digital platforms.

Legal proceedings under the Indian Penal Code Section 152 and the IT Act commenced against Riaz, who was later taken into custody. The Indian government, led by the Home Ministry, emphasizes the importance of monitoring and acting swiftly against undesirable activities on social and other media platforms.

The government has prioritized the swift removal of accounts disseminating anti-India propaganda, especially from border areas and union territories. Maintaining open communication with central agencies ensures efficient tightening of security. State governments have been coached to prevent unfounded fear among citizens.
