The tension between India and Pakistan has escalated to a dangerous peak. With India's decisive actions, Pakistan's bravado has crumbled. The Indian Army has taken down two Pakistani JF-17 fighter jets and one F-16, while a Pakistan Air Force AWACS aircraft crashed within Punjab, Pakistan. It's reported that the aircraft fell within their own borders.

In addition to air confrontations, troop drones along the border attempted to infiltrate but were met with fierce resistance by India's air defense units. Amid rising tensions, Pakistan launched rockets targeting airstrips in Jammu on Thursday; however, vigilant Indian forces with their robust and formidable air defense thwarted these advances. Discover the power behind India's defenses that brought Pakistan to its knees.

Last night, when Pakistan attempted to fly swarm drones across the Line of Control and International Borders, an extensive counter-drone operation by Indian air defense units led to the destruction of over 50 drones in Udhampur, Samba, Jammu, Akhnoor, Nagrota, and Pathankot.

India has deployed a comprehensive series of anti-drone and low-altitude air defense systems, including the S-400, L-70 anti-aircraft guns, and Soviet-era ZSU-23-4 Shilka units. Additionally, advanced counter-UAS equipment was leveraged on a large scale, showcasing India's formidable capability to counter aerial threats.

The S-400 turned the tables against Pakistan's ambitions at the India-Pakistan border. Even when rockets were fired at Jammu's airstrip on Thursday, India's vigilance and powerful air defense rendered this attack null. In a swift response, the modern S-400 missile defense system neutralized 8 incoming missiles from Pakistan mid-air. Army sources reported that these missiles aimed for Jammu Airstrip, but timely action averted significant damage.

The power of India's INS Vikrant was showcased at sea. Amid the heightening tensions post-Pahalgam terror attack, the Indian Navy had already deployed INS Vikrant in the Arabian Sea, with its strike group stationed near the Karwar coast, including an aircraft carrier, destroyers, frigates, anti-submarine warships, and auxiliary ships. It seems the integrated efforts of India's three forces initially obliterated terrorist bases in Pakistan, potentially provoking the current confrontation, which the armed forces are expertly countering.

Known by its Russian moniker 'Shilka', this automatic system features four 23 mm autocannons mounted on a tracked chassis and is directed by a radar capable of identifying targets up to 20 km away.

This system can fire up to 4,000 rounds per minute and was recently upgraded with proximity-fuse ammunition and advanced fire-control systems to deal with small drones. Its rapid firing and radar precision render it lethal not only to UAVs but also to helicopters and light-armored vehicles.

Akash Missile System

On the night of May 7-8, 2025, Pakistan attempted drone and missile strikes on Indian military bases in Srinagar, Jammu, Pathankot, Amritsar, Chandigarh, and 15 other cities. The Akash Missile System destroyed a Pakistani JF-17 jet aiming at Srinagar. This system played a critical role in tracking and destroying drones and missiles. The Akash is a medium-range surface-to-air missile system indigenously developed by India, designed by DRDO. It is the backbone of the Indian Army and Air Force. On May 8, 2025, attempts by Pakistan to strike military bases in 15 Indian cities were thwarted entirely by Indian air defense systems.

These weapon systems are an integral part of India’s air defense strategy, capable of neutralizing enemy aerial threats.
