Team India captain Suryakumar Yadav expressed that the praise from Prime Minister Narendra Modi after clinching the Asia Cup final against Pakistan was especially significant. Immediately following the victory, the Prime Minister congratulated the team. Modi posted on X, 'On the playing field, #OperationSindoor. The result is the same – India wins! Congratulations to our cricketers.'
Responding to PM Modi’s post, Suryakumar noted that it felt as if the Prime Minister himself was on the field. In an exclusive conversation with Aaj Tak, he said, 'It feels great when the country’s leader is out there batting on the front foot. It seemed like he took the strike and made runs. It was amazing to witness, and when the leader is standing right there, players definitely perform openly.'

The captain also shared that the team's success is even more satisfying because celebrations are happening nationwide. He remarked, 'The most important aspect is that the entire country is celebrating. When we (India) return home, it will feel good and provide further inspiration and motivation to perform well.'
'Going beyond limits is unacceptable'
Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav emphasized that while aggression is part of cricket, crossing the line is not acceptable. Suryakumar stated, 'I can't share everything the players discussed over all three matches, but much transpired on the field, and the coaching staff witnessed it. Yet, I told them one thing after both the first and second matches. If we focus properly on cricket, everything else is alright. If we win here, there is no bigger answer we can provide.'

In the Asia Cup, Pakistani players exhibited provocative behavior, including Sahibzada Farhan's celebratory gestures akin to firing a gun after scoring a half-century and Haris Rauf’s airplane celebration. It should be noted that India and Pakistan faced off three times in this tournament, with the Indian squad prevailing each time. However, tensions were prominent in every match. The controversy further escalated post-final when India refused to accept the trophy as it was to be handed over by ACC President and PCB Chief Mohsin Naqvi.
