After successfully thwarting numerous missile and drone attacks by Pakistan in Jammu & Kashmir, Punjab, and Rajasthan, India launched a decisive counterattack targeting Islamabad, Lahore, Sialkot, and Karachi late Thursday night. These unprovoked failed attempts by Pakistan to attack Sri Nagar, Jammu, Rajouri, Amritsar, Pathankot, Jalandhar, Jodhpur, Jaisalmer, and Bhuj prompted these targets to enforce blackouts in defense readiness.

The Indian defense ministry issued a statement saying, 'Military stations in Jammu, Pathankot, and Udhampur were targeted today by Pakistani drones and missiles along the international border in Jammu & Kashmir. These threats were swiftly neutralized using kinetic and non-kinetic capabilities per the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). No casualties were reported. India remains fully committed to defending its sovereignty and ensuring the safety of its citizens.'

India's S-400 air defense system successfully intercepted and destroyed eight Pakistani missiles in the skies over Satwari, Samba, RS Pura, and Arnia on Thursday evening. Following the terrorist attack in Pahalgam on April 22, India had launched 'Operation Sindoor'. This was a counterattack where the Indian Army destroyed nine terror camps belonging to Jaish, Lashkar, and Hizbul Mujahideen located in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. Enraged, Pakistan attempted to strike various defense installations in Jammu & Kashmir, Punjab, and Rajasthan using drones and missiles on Thursday evening.

Activating the S-400 air defense system imported from Russia has yielded phenomenal results, striking down missiles and drones in mid-air. Defense sources stated, 'We anticipated provocations from Pakistan and were fully prepared to thwart potential aerial assaults. Our air defense system has so far intercepted eight projectiles, primarily surface-to-surface missiles.' The Border Security Force (BSF) has increased ground surveillance and deployed anti-drone systems.'
