Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar on Saturday compared Operation Sindoor with the U.S. operation in Pakistan to eliminate Osama bin Laden. Although he did not mention Osama by name, he said that on May 2, 2011, a global terrorist who planned, executed, and supervised the September 11 attacks in the U.S. was eliminated by the U.S., and similarly, India has acted, and this has reached global attention.

'A New Global Benchmark Established'

Dhankhar mentioned that this action has set a new 'global benchmark'. He highlighted that India has made a direct strike on terrorism while preserving the spirit of peace. The Vice President explained that for the first time, there were precise strikes on terror bases of Jaish-e-Mohammad and Lashkar-e-Taiba across the international border. He asserted that only the terrorists were eliminated with no civilian casualties.

Indian Army Eliminates Over 100 Terrorists

Following the terrorist attack on April 22, 2025, at Pahalgam in Jammu & Kashmir, which resulted in the death of 26 civilians, India launched a special military operation named ‘Operation Sindoor’. This action was directed against the cross-border terrorist bases linked to groups like Jaish-e-Mohammad and Lashkar-e-Taiba.

In a joint operation of the three armed forces, precise strikes were conducted with the aim to target only terrorists. It was the first time such deep incursions across the international border were executed with such precision, signaling India's 'Zero Tolerance' policy and military prowess to the world. India targeted and neutralized nine terrorist bases in Pakistan and PoK, leading to over 100 terrorist deaths.
