Indian shooter Manu Bhaker has made history. Manu won the bronze medal in the 10-meter air pistol event at the Paris Olympics. She has become the first Indian shooter to win a medal at the Olympics. Manu scored a total of 221.7 points in the final. This is India's first medal at the ongoing Paris Olympics and the fifth shooting medal in Olympic history for India. Korean athletes Oh Ye Jin won gold, and Kim Ye Ji won silver.

Manu Bhaker’s Qualification Round Performance

Manu Bhaker finished third in the 60-shot qualifying round with a total of 580 points. She scored 97 in the first series, 97 in the second, 98 in the third, 96 in the fourth, 96 in the fifth, and 96 in the sixth series. In the Women's 10-meter air pistol event, Rhythm Sangwan also participated, but she did not perform well, finishing 15th with 573 points.

Indian shooter Manu Bhaker is competing in her second Olympics at Paris 2024. She debuted in Tokyo Olympics 2020 but was prevented from winning a medal due to a pistol malfunction during the 10-meter air pistol qualification. She also missed out on medals in both the mixed team 10-meter pistol and 25-meter pistol events.

At the Paris 2024 Olympic shooting competition, 22-year-old Manu Bhaker is competing in the women’s 10-meter air pistol, 10-meter air pistol mixed team, and women’s 25-meter pistol events. She is the only athlete from the 21-member Indian shooting team competing in several individual events.
