The Congress is set to hold a key meeting this Saturday to strategize for the upcoming Monsoon Session of Parliament. Initially planned to be held offline at Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge's residence in Delhi, the meeting will now be conducted online to ensure broader participation of opposition leaders.

This development comes after several senior leaders indicated their inability to travel to Delhi on short notice. According to Congress sources, nearly all major leaders of the India Bloc have confirmed their attendance via video conferencing. This includes leaders like Akhilesh Yadav (Samajwadi Party), Uddhav Thackeray (Shiv Sena-UBT), and M K Stalin (DMK), who previously expressed their constraints to travel to Delhi on short notice.

Reports suggest that the Trinamool Congress (TMC) has confirmed its participation in the meeting. It is expected that either party chief Mamata Banerjee or senior leader Abhishek Banerjee will join the meeting online. This marks TMC's first involvement in any India Bloc meeting since the general elections, having previously stayed away from meetings held during parliamentary sessions. However, the participation of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) remains uncertain.

Sources claim that Congress leaders have reached out, but it is still unclear whether AAP will join the meeting. The Saturday meeting will focus on forming a united front for the Monsoon Session. The primary discussions are expected to revolve around issues such as the situation in Bihar, special investigation reports, and Operation Sindhur. Furthermore, Congress aims to put pressure on the BJP regarding Donald Trump’s claim about mediating a ceasefire between India and Pakistan.
