During the India AI Impact Summit 2026, India etched its name in the Guinness World Records by setting a remarkable benchmark. In the span of just 24 hours, an astounding number of individuals embraced the AI pledge, entering the prestigious record books.

A total of 2,50,946 people participated in the AI pledge during the summit, prompting Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw to give credit to the Prime Minister for this incredible achievement. The AI pledge aimed at raising awareness about AI, offering participants special online badges in recognition.

A Dedicated Portal for AI Pledge

The government launched a micro-site on the AI Impact Portal for individuals to participate in the AI pledge from Monday to the following morning. Participants could use devices such as phones, tablets, and PCs to engage, followed by a quiz and badge distribution.

AI Impact Summit Extended by a Day

The AI Impact Summit in India is set to continue until February 21, after the government decided to extend the event by a day from the originally planned date of February 20. Esteemed CEOs from leading AI companies worldwide, including Google and Microsoft, announced new investments in AI and data centers in India.

Controversy Over Chinese Robot

During the AI Impact Summit, Greater Noida-based Galgotias University showcased a Chinese robot, sparking controversy over claims on social media that the university falsely attributed the creation of a 'robo dog' to themselves. The university clarified they made no such assertion. Subsequently, Galgotias was ordered to vacate their allocated space at Bharat Mandapam.
