1: India's Highest Series Run Total:

India has aggregated a total of 3393 runs in this series, the highest for any Test series for India. Previously, India scored 3270 runs against the West Indies in the 1978-79 six-Test series. Since 1995, this is the largest score by any team in a Test series.

2: Shubman Gill's New Record:

Shubman Gill scored 743 runs in this series, setting the record for the most runs by an Indian captain in any Test series. Sunil Gavaskar held the previous record with 732 runs against the West Indies (1978-79). Gill's score is the second-highest in a Test series for India. Gavaskar maintains the top spot with 774 runs against the West Indies in 1971.

3: Consecutive Toss Losses:

Since January 2025, India has lost 15 consecutive tosses, across all formats, marking the longest streak in international cricket. The previous record was held by the West Indies with 12 toss losses in 1999. The likelihood of losing 15 tosses in a row is a mere 0.003%.

- In this five-match series against England, India lost all tosses. - Since 2000, it's the second instance a team lost all tosses in a five-match series. The previous instance also involved India on their 2018 tour to England. - Over the last three England tours, India played 15 Test matches, winning only one toss.

4: Changes in Both Teams for The Oval Test:

Both England and India made four changes each for the fifth Test. Since 2003, it's only the second instance where both teams made so many changes in a Test series. The last instance occurred in 2015 during the third Test in Kandy between Sri Lanka and Pakistan.

5: Karun Nair's Comeback After 3149 Days:

Karun Nair scored 52* in the Test, marking his fifty-plus score after 3149 days since his record 303* against England in December 2016.
