An appalling murder-suicide case has surfaced from Sitapur, Uttar Pradesh, leaving the community in shock. Reports indicate that a man, in a fit of rage over a domestic dispute, fatally attacked his wife with a sickle and then proceeded to hang himself. Promptly informed, police arrived at the scene, took custody of the bodies, and commenced their investigation.

The tragedy unfolded in the Kotwalnpurwa village within the Thanagaon area. 35-year-old Parshuram lived with his 32-year-old wife Ruma and their three children. Relatives told the police that a conflict erupted Monday afternoon over a meal served late, which led Parshuram to strike his wife's neck, arms, and several other parts with a sickle, and then hanged himself in the room. Their youngest son, three-year-old Ranjeet, was home at the time of the incident.

Husband Kills Wife Before Taking His Own Life

Attracted by Ranjeet's cries, Parshuram’s brother and other family members arrived at the scene to be met with horror. The incident cast a pall over the entire village community. SP South Dr. Praveen Ranjan, CO Mahmudabad Dinesh Shukla, and Inspector Thanagaon Hanumant Tiwari, along with the police force, reached the scene and started probing into the incident.

Police Register Case and Initiate Investigation

The deceased wife's family resided nearby, which allowed them to quickly gather at the scene. The Police handed over the couple's three children to their maternal grandfather, Chandrika. The police suggested that the conflict arose from a domestic dispute. The bodies would be returned to the families following a postmortem examination.
