Haryana's Chief Minister, Nayab Singh Saini, disclosed on Monday that heavy rains in various districts have led to house collapses, taking the lives of 12 individuals. Areas such as Fatehabad, Bhiwani, and Kurukshetra are among those affected. In an incident in Bhiwani's Kalinga village, three young girls tragically lost their lives.

4 Lakhs in Support for Each Victim's Family

The Chief Minister has ensured that an immediate financial aid of 4 lakh rupees has been provided to each of the victims' families. Additionally, all cabinet ministers, BJP legislators, and three independent legislators supporting the government will donate their one-month salary to aid relief efforts.

Ongoing Relief and Rescue Operations

Saini announced that a reserve fund of 32.6 million rupees has been allocated for the affected districts. This fund is being used for necessities like food, clothing, temporary shelters, fodder for animals, fuel, and transportation of relief materials. Medical teams have also been dispatched to the affected areas.

'E-Compensation Portal' for Crop Loss Reports

A new 'E-Compensation Portal' has been launched by the government, allowing farmers to report crop damage. To date, 253,440 farmers from 5,217 villages have registered approximately 14.91 lakh acres of land. Officials have been instructed to conduct drone surveys to assess crop damage.

Relief Camps for the Displaced

For families who had to abandon their homes due to flooding, relief camps have been established. Compensation of up to 15,000 rupees per acre will be awarded for crop damage. Measures to bring dry fodder from other districts are in place to combat fodder shortages.

Criticisms Towards Opposition

The Chief Minister criticized opposition leaders, noting that they only recently visited the affected members of the public, choosing previously to limit their comments to social media. Taking a jab at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, he remarked, "Whenever disaster strikes the nation, the prince of Congress heads abroad, whereas Prime Minister Modi stands steadfast with the people."
