'Desire and Ambition...', Raghav Chadha on AAP-Congress Alliance in Haryana

Voting for the 90-member Haryana Assembly will be held on October 5, with the last date for nominations being September 12. Counting will take place on October 8. Meanwhile, the potential alliance between Aam Aadmi Party and Congress is in its final stages and could be announced within the next two days.

Amid speculations of seat-sharing between Aam Aadmi Party and Congress for the Haryana elections, AAP's Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha said on Sunday that both parties have the desire and ambition to form an alliance. He added that a decision will be made before the last date for nominations on September 12.

Raghav Chadha stated, "I cannot make any personal statements or comments on individual seats. All I can say is that both parties have the desire, ambition, and expectation to form an alliance. The last date for nominations is September 12. We will make a decision before the 12th. If we do not reach an agreement or a winning position, we will abandon it."

Decision in the Interest of Democracy!

Raghav Chadha further mentioned that discussions are taking place in a positive environment and assured that the decision will be in the best interest of the people of Haryana, the country, and democracy. He said, "Discussions are happening in a positive atmosphere. Productive talks are underway. I am confident and hopeful that a good decision will be taken in the interest of Haryana, the country, and democracy."

AAP's Rajya Sabha MP continued, "I cannot share statistics. Whether it’s a statement from a leader of another party, a statement from my party, or an issue on an individual seat, I will not comment on any person, allegation, or seat. Hopefully, we’ll soon return to the media with some good news."

Changes Possible in Congress's Declared Candidates

After meeting with Haryana Congress in-charge Deepak Babaria, Raghav Chadha said, "I’m hopeful that the alliance or seat-sharing will be finalized. The world runs on hope." Meanwhile, Babaria mentioned that a final decision on the alliance will be made within the next two days.

Babaria said, "Congress has given me this responsibility, and this is my second or third meeting with Raghav Chadha in the past two days. We are adjusting locations and numbers, and we expect results in the next two days. It depends; if it’s beneficial for both Congress and AAP, we will go ahead with the alliance. I’m trying my best." He also indicated that changes might be made to previously announced candidates.
