Under the scorching sun, these people stand on the road, watching their dream palace turn into ruins. Years ago, they booked their homes with high hopes, dreaming of celebrating Holi and Diwali in their new homes. However, 15 years have passed, and they still haven't received their homes. The biggest dream of every middle-class person is to have their own home, sacrificing all their savings for it. But when that dream remains unfulfilled, patience begins to wane. Buyers of Rudra Palace Heights in Greater Noida West have been deceived, trapped after paying millions without receiving a home or a refund.
Waiting for Their Homes for Years
Flat buyer Neeraj Dubey booked his flat in Rudra Palace Heights in 2012, with the builder promising possession by 2015. However, the project was blacklisted in 2018. Like Neeraj, about 900 people booked flats in this project, but their dreams were halted before they could move in, as construction came to a standstill. Neeraj claims that when a legal case date nears, 100 laborers come to work, but after 20 days, the work stops again. He states that if the work had been genuinely ongoing for 15 years, they wouldn't be standing on the road.
Another buyer, Sachin, shares that many have lost their lives due to this project. Every year, they say next Holi, next Diwali, but 15 Holis and 15 Diwalis have passed, and they have gone bankrupt without receiving a home. They are in great distress. Here, just for show, builders have brought in many laborers, but it's all a facade.

Another homebuyer, Vandita, shares that when they bought the house in 2012, their kids were in school; now they are in college. They are nearing retirement, having paid only rent and loans for their entire lives. They question, "Who controls our lives?" Today they are alive, tomorrow they might not be. Nobody cares how their lives are unfolding. The government is charging different fees, landlords are collecting rent, and they wonder when they will finally get their house.
With rents and children's exorbitant fees, people's financial situations have become strained. Rising costs have made it difficult for people to run their households.
Another buyer, Madhu Mishra, shares that ever since she booked her flat in 2014, she has faced only hardships. They endured the pandemic somehow, paying rent and EMI, and still have no hope of receiving their home. With Delhi-NCR school fees being so high, it's extremely challenging for them to make ends meet.

When Will They Receive Their Homes?
The Aaj Tak Digital team also spoke to individuals completing the Rudra Palace Heights project. Vipul, overseeing the project for the past eight months, says that construction was halted until 2023 due to disputes with farmers, but now they are back to work, promising to complete three towers within six months. Meanwhile, contractor Naushad asserts that they will complete work on towers B1, B2, and B6 within 3 to 4 months, committing to using extra labor to finish this project.
