What Caused the Server Problems?

It is rumored that the services were disrupted due to problems in the cybersecurity platform CrowdStrike. Airlines such as IndiGo and SpiceJet have indicated that their services are grounded due to server issues. Airport check-in and check-out systems have malfunctioned, and the booking services are also affected, hitting American aviation services the hardest. The American emergency number 911 has been affected in multiple regions, leading to a disruption in non-emergency call center services as well.

Banking, telecom, media outlets, and airline services have been impacted in countries like Australia and Germany. Australia's National Cyber Security Coordinator has noted that various companies experienced significant service disruptions on Friday afternoon.

Amsterdam's Schiphol Airport, one of Europe's busiest hubs, has been struck by the setback in Microsoft's server. The spokesperson remarked the glitch affected inbound and outbound flights from Schiphol.

Travelers at Edinburgh Airport were hindered from using the self-service boarding pass scanners as the security monitors flashed a 'server offline' message.

Turkish Airlines has encountered issues in ticketing, checking in, and the reservation process due to a chronic technological problem affecting their information systems.
