In Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, a 21-year-old woman tragically ended her life due to relentless blackmail from a friend. She took this drastic step by hanging herself at home. The woman recorded a video on her phone, laying the blame squarely on her friend Nitesh Nishad. Based on this video evidence, police arrested and jailed Nitesh.
The horrific incident occurred within the Khoda Police Station jurisdiction in Ghaziabad, where last Sunday, the woman hung herself inside her home. Her family rushed her to the hospital, but she was declared dead upon arrival. According to a police complaint, Nitesh Nishad not only blackmailed the woman but also threatened her younger sister, driving the woman to take her own life.
On the night of August 17, the grim truth behind her suicide came to light through her mobile phone. She had recorded a video while setting up the noose, explaining why she took such a step. However, unlocking her phone took time, delaying the discovery of this evidence. In the video, the woman explicitly blamed Nitesh Nishad for her plight.
The deceased woman’s father reported that Nitesh Nishad had tortured his daughter mentally for several months. He had promised to marry her, then exploited and blackmailed her. When she protested, he made derogatory comments about her underage sister, causing the woman to feel utterly trapped, leading her to end her life.

ACP Indirapuram stated that on August 17, 2024, the woman's father filed a complaint, which triggered an investigation. Upon unlocking the deceased woman’s phone, the police found a video in which she blamed Nitesh Nishad for her death. Consequently, the police arrested him. Legal proceedings are currently underway.
