Following the Supreme Court's endorsement of the appointment of nominated councilors (Aldermen) to the Delhi Municipal Corporation, the first meeting is scheduled for today, Wednesday. There are likely to be disruptions in the meeting, set to begin at 2:00 PM at the MCD Headquarters. According to BJP sources, a protest against the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) will kick off before entering the corporation hall.

Opposition councilors may create a ruckus over the drowning of an auto, waterlogging, and deaths caused by falling into drains in the Minto Road area. Over the past year, meetings have seen continuous disruptions, rendering decision-making and discussions on the agenda impossible. The BJP vehemently protested in the corporation hall over the deaths of three students who drowned in the basement of a coaching center in Old Rajendra Nagar in July.

Leader of the Opposition in the Delhi Municipal Corporation and former mayor Sardar Raja Iqbal Singh criticized AAP's government for utterly failing in basic tasks like waste management. The guarantee of a waste-free Delhi promised by Kejriwal during the municipal elections is falling apart at the city's landfill sites. For the first time in the corporation's history, a letter was written to the corporation commissioner to hide failures in the sanitation system.

The responsibility for Delhi's cleanliness entirely lies with the ruling Aam Aadmi Party. Sardar Raja Iqbal Singh emphasized that the Mayor of Delhi should focus on the welfare of its residents instead of making excuses. When the entire corporation administration is under AAP's control, writing letters to the corporation commissioner is an attempt to mislead. Delhi's public is now aware of AAP's cunning tactics, and their blame games won't last for long.
