Considered one of this generation's most powerful Indian actors, Fahadh Faasil, renowned for his unparalleled portrayal of characters, has never chased stardom. Originating from Malayalam cinema, Fahadh has also made his mark in Telugu and Tamil films with notable performances in 'Super Deluxe' and 'Pushpa' respectively.
Fahadh's idea of entertainment is to provide an immersive theater experience rather than having audiences dwell on his films long after.
"Don't take me too seriously,"
he shared in an interview with Galatta Plus, putting emphasis on why he prefers supporting roles in different language films and seeks collaboration over leading roles to continuously learn from others.
Fahadh believes audiences should take actors' performances less seriously and simply enjoy the entertainment provided in theaters. He stresses that commitment to his audience is to make every film worth watching and not to dwell on his personal life.
"Consider me only within the theater's walls,"
he insists, not wanting discussions of his performances to extend beyond the brief journey from theater to home.
Fahadh emphasized, "Cinema has its limits. There's more to life than what's on screen. You can do so much more with your life beyond just watching films."
Admiration for Aamir's Approach
Fahadh respects actors like Aamir Khan, who reinvent themselves with each film and are not overexposed between releases. He mentioned Aamir's absence between 'Lagaan' and 'Dil Chahta Hai,' and later, 'Mangal Pandey'. He admires this approach, desiring similar focus on the quality of his own work rather than continuous public attention.
Currently, Fahadh is gearing up for the release of 'Pushpa 2: The Rule' alongside Allu Arjun, where he will reprise his role as the antagonist from the first film, 'Pushpa: The Rise'. 'Pushpa 2' is set to release on August 15, 2024.
