A horrifying incident emerged from Gurugram where a man heinously murdered his live-in partner. The police were stunned by the motive: the murder was solely because she refused to make egg curry at his behest. The suspect has been arrested.
According to PTI, Gurugram police found a woman's body in Chauma village within an under-construction home. It was disclosed on Saturday that the deceased's live-in partner has been apprehended. During interrogation, 35-year-old Lallan Yadav admitted to his crime.
Under rigorous questioning, Yadav told police that inebriated with alcohol, he lost control and brutally killed her with a hammer and a belt upon her refusal to prepare egg curry.
An Accused from Bihar
The original resident of Aurahi village in Madhepura district, Bihar, Yadav was caught by a team from Palam Vihar police station in the Sarai Kale Khan area of Delhi. 32-year-old waste-picker Anjali was found dead last Wednesday in a building under construction in Chauma village. The caretaker filed a police report after discovering the body.
Both Came to Work as Laborers in the Building
Police reports indicate that the accused and Anjali were brought to work at the under-construction site from the Gurugram bus stand on March 10. The owner of the building did not take their real names, addresses, or IDs. The accused had presented Anjali as his wife. During the inquiry, the accused stated that his wife had died from a snakebite six years ago, after which he moved to Delhi.
The Accused Met the Deceased Seven Months Ago
Police said the accused met Anjali, the scavenger, about seven months ago, and started living together while working as laborers. After committing the murder, the accused fled. The murder weapons, a hammer, and a belt have been recovered, and the interrogation is ongoing.
