Myanmar has experienced another tremor. According to the US Geological Survey (USGS), the earthquake measured 5.1 on the Richter scale, instilling fear in various parts, with the epicenter reported near the capital, Naypyidaw.

Yesterday, Myanmar was hit by two quakes, causing extensive damage. Continuous tremors have left residents apprehensive, creating a chaotic atmosphere in many regions.

Fortunately, no major damage or casualties have been reported so far, but authorities remain alert and are monitoring the situation. Tremors were felt today at 2:50 PM (IST), with the National Center for Seismology recording the intensity as 4.7 on the Richter scale.

Massive Destruction from Myanmar Earthquake

Since the devastating 7.7 magnitude earthquake on Friday, Myanmar has been experiencing sporadic shocks. The National Center for Seismology reported another quake at 4.2 magnitude at 11:56 PM (local time) on Friday. The latest tremor occurred at a depth of 10 kilometers, raising the possibility of more aftershocks. The local media reports indicate that 1002 people have perished and 1670 have been injured.

In Afghanistan, tremors were also felt on Saturday morning at 5:16 AM. Measuring 4.7 on the Richter scale, the earthquake originated from a depth of 180 kilometers. So far, no injuries or significant damage have been reported. This tremor followed a powerful earthquake in Myanmar and Thailand, which resulted in hundreds of deaths and extensive destruction of buildings, Buddhist stupas, roads, and bridges.

India Lends a Helping Hand

India has extended its support to the earthquake-affected regions of Myanmar. Prime Minister Narendra Modi communicated with Myanmar's Senior General H. E. Min Aung Hlaing, expressing sympathy and announcing assistance under #OperationBrahma for relief and rescue operations. Disaster relief materials, humanitarian aid, and rescue teams from India have reached the impacted areas.
