During Aaj Tak's 'Nirman Bharat Summit,' Dr. Lokesh M., the CEO of Noida Authority, discussed the infrastructure, challenges, and future plans for Noida. He reported considerable progress on resolving issues like waterlogging, waste management, and drinking water through large-scale initiatives. The city's improved drainage system has successfully mitigated waterlogging post-rainfall, with ongoing efforts to maintain this achievement.

Dr. Lokesh highlighted that Noida's development aligns with a well-planned 20-year master strategy, ensuring each infrastructure component adheres to guidelines. The city, comprising 168 sectors and approximately 80 villages, is witnessing urban-like transformations within these villages, effectively erasing the rural-urban divide as they now feature modern constructions.

He further explained that while industries were initially Noida's core focus, housing accommodations became necessary as the region's population grew. Enhancing Noida remains his top priority, with the Authority striving to attract investors, thereby creating job opportunities and boosting the nation's GDP.

Regarding investment, Dr. Lokesh mentioned the significant achievement of a ₹10,000-crore investment in Noida last year. The construction of Jewar Airport is poised to be a game-changer, expected to usher in more investors and accelerate industrial growth.

Discussing urban law enforcement, Dr. Lokesh noted that improved law and order have accelerated growth. The government's stringent actions have curbed crime, enabling the Authority to operate more efficiently.

He emphasized Noida's stringent master plan, which limits extensive modifications but supports ongoing enhancements through new ventures such as a deer park and a butterfly park. Notably, an ambitious project in Sector 18 aims to emulate New York's Times Square, transforming it into a modern and lively hub.
