Surat, a prominent city in Gujarat, is currently grappling with severe flood conditions due to relentless rainfall. Residents are facing significant challenges as floodwaters disrupt daily life. During a field inspection of flood-affected areas, the city's Deputy Mayor found himself in a sticky situation, quite literally. Faced with an impassable muddy path, he decided to cross it by climbing onto the shoulders of a fire officer. Unsurprisingly, the photos capturing this moment have gone viral on social media.
The torrential rain has thrown life out of gear in Surat. After some areas witnessed water receding, BJP leader and Deputy Mayor Narendra Patil took to the streets to survey the damage. In doing so, he stirred a bit of controversy. When he reached a stretch where the sidewalk and the road were separated by a muddy gap about two feet wide, he took a rather unconventional approach.

To avoid getting his feet dirty in the mud and to prevent his pants from being soiled, the Deputy Mayor chose to ride on the fire officer's shoulders to cross the muddy stretch. These pictures have spread rapidly online.
