A scene of panic unfolded in Uttam Nagar, Delhi, when a sudden fire broke out in a four-story building. Reports suggest an explosion on the second floor triggered the blaze. In no time, the flames spread from there to the upper floors.
The fire swiftly engulfed the third and fourth floors. Amidst the chaos, an 11-year-old girl, in a desperate attempt to escape, jumped from an upper floor, resulting in a fractured leg. Meanwhile, an 18-year-old youth, Nakul, suffered burns and has been admitted to the hospital for urgent care.
Cylinder Blast Ignites Fire
Residents reported that a cylinder explosion was the cause of the fire. The blast brought down a wall, which fell on 22-year-old Reena, causing serious head injuries. She was rushed to the hospital in critical condition. The area was gripped by mayhem for an extended period due to the fire.
Brave Response by Fire Brigade Teams
Upon hearing the explosion, locals alerted the fire brigade. Four fire brigade vehicles were dispatched to the scene to bring the fire under control. The fire was eventually extinguished with no fatalities reported as of now.
