In Delhi, a 19-year-old girl attempted suicide by consuming acid, which sent shockwaves throughout the community. Presently, she is fighting for her life in Safdarjung Hospital. Police have arrested a man from another community on accusations of inciting her to end her life. It came to light that the man had been assaulting her under the pretense of marriage for a long time. Additionally, he had made obscene videos and recorded calls to blackmail her.
It is alleged that when she finally talked about marriage, the man refused, which led her to attempt suicide by swallowing acid. Her mother claims that the man had been abusing her since she was a minor and had even forced her to undergo two abortions.
They further accuse the man’s father of trying to bribe them with lakhs of rupees to settle the case when a police complaint was filed. They added that he targets girls from a specific community and has been involved with many before. Currently, the accused has been arrested, and the victim is receiving treatment at Safdarjung Hospital.
