A notorious criminal, evading arrest for six months following the murder of a shopkeeper in Delhi's Narela area, has been captured. The police officer shared that Parvesh Kumar, also known as Dhillu, was arrested by the Crime Branch near Najafgarh on May 16. He hails from Delhi and was wanted in connection with the murder of Sumit, a native of Mandora village in Haryana's Sonipat district.
Sumit was running a fertilizer shop in the Narela area. Parvesh Kumar and his associates planned the murder as revenge for harassing his sister, said the authorities. Acting on a tip-off, the Crime team successfully apprehended Parvesh Kumar in Najafgarh. During the investigation, the accused confessed involvement in the crime with his cousins, Deepanshu and Rahul Hooda.
He revealed to the police that the trio conspired and executed the murder, driven by a desire for retribution against Sumit, who had been troubling his sister. The police had arrested the accused, Anam, who confessed to committing the murder following a dispute over 100 rupees. Initial investigations faced difficulty identifying the corpse until door-to-door inquiries unveiled the victim's identity. The deceased was a resident of Dada Mai Colony. Police officer Nidhan Walshen disclosed that 140 CCTV cameras were scrutinized.
The investigation uncovered Anam's activities, even though he had switched off his mobile phone. Despite this, the authorities successfully detained him.
