Swati Maliwal suffers internal facial injuries; Delhi Police to scrutinize CCTV footage from CM's house

The assault case involving Aam Aadmi Party MP Swati Maliwal at the Chief Minister's residence continues to gain attention. The police interrogated Maliwal for four hours before registering an FIR in the matter. The investigation will now include examining all CCTV footage installed at Kejriwal's residence.

According to Delhi Police, a letter has been sent to the company responsible for the CCTVs at Kejriwal's house to obtain the footage. All related footage will be scrutinized to gather evidence.

Sources related to Delhi Police state that investigations cover all aspects when an FIR is filed. Everyone involved in the incident will be scrutinized.

Maliwal's medical report is due today

Maliwal underwent a three-hour medical examination last night, including X-rays and a CT scan. Her medical report is expected today, indicating internal injuries on her face.

It's noted that there are eight CCTV cameras outside Kejriwal's house, all of which will be examined. The exact time when Swati Maliwal arrived at the CM's house on the day of the incident, and everyone she met there, will be part of the recorded statements.

Maliwal reportedly reached CM's house by taxi. The taxi driver's statement will also be recorded, as will the statements of everyone she met there. Moreover, efforts to locate Vibhav are ongoing; reports suggest Vibhav is in Amritsar. The police have formed about ten teams to investigate the matter, with four teams working to pinpoint Vibhav's location.

Delhi BJP Women's Wing protests outside Kejriwal's residence

Delhi BJP Women's Wing has staged a protest outside Kejriwal's residence in support of Maliwal. BJP activists are demonstrating with bangles.

Meanwhile, BJP MP Maneka Gandhi has commented on the matter, saying that no woman should ever face such treatment and there should be zero tolerance for it.

What are the allegations against Vibhav Kumar?

Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal accuses a close aide of Kejriwal, Vibhav Kumar, of assault at the Chief Minister's residence. Later, party leader Sanjay Singh stated that Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is aware of the incident and is committed to strict action. Singh revealed that Maliwal had come to meet Kejriwal that Monday. She was waiting in the drawing room when Vibhav Kumar arrived and allegedly misbehaved with her.

Prior to this, Delhi Police had shared that Maliwal went to Civil Lines police station and accused a member of Kejriwal's personal staff of assault at the CM house. However, Maliwal has not yet filed a written complaint. The police have indicated that the investigation will proceed further only after a complaint is filed.
