Delhi-NCR Weather Alert: Brace for Gusty Winds and Thunderstorms

Unpredictable weather looms over Delhi NCR capitals, forecast warns of gusty winds and the likelihood of heavy rains.

Delhi NCR has experienced an abrupt change in weather conditions. Places like Noida, Ghaziabad, Gurugram, and Delhi are now under the influence of brisk winds with predictions of imminent heavy rain showers. According to the meteorological department, intense rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning may strike within the next few hours. Currently, the sky is dominated by heavy, dark clouds.

The weather science department has forecasted light to moderate rain, potentially accompanied by thunder, for the entirety of Delhi and the NCR region (including Loni Dehat, Hindon AF Station, Bahadurgarh).

As per meteorological sources, various localities will experience heavy downpours with winds reaching speeds of 30-50 km/h. Places like Ghaziabad, Indirapuram, Chapraula, Noida, Dadri, Gurugram, Faridabad, Manesar, and Ballabhgarh, as well as regions such as Gohana, Hansi, Maham, Sonipat, Tosham, Rohtak, Kharkhoda, Bhiwani, Charkhi Dadri, Matannail, Jhajjar, Pilkuwa, Sikandrabad (UP), Bhiwadi (Rajasthan), Farukhnagar, Kosli, Mahendragarh, Sohna, Rewari, Bawal (Haryana), Baraut, Bagpat, Khekra, and Modinagar, may witness significant rainfall in the next two hours.

In Delhi, the inclement weather has led to the diversion of 17 flights en route to the airport.
