Reach from Sarai Kale Khan to Begumpul in Just 55 Minutes; Delhi-Meerut Namo Bharat Starts February 22

The 82-km long Namo Bharat rapid rail on the Delhi-Meerut RRTS corridor has successfully completed a trial run from Sarai Kale Khan to Begumpul, aiming to connect these cities in a brisk 55-60 minutes, much to the relief of commuters in Delhi, Ghaziabad, and Meerut.

The journey between Delhi and Meerut is set to become quicker than ever. The 'Namo Bharat Rapid Rail', sprinting across the 82 km Delhi-Meerut corridor, has successfully conducted a trial run from Sarai Kale Khan to the Begumpul station in Meerut.Traveling at a speed of around 160 km per hour, this train will cover the distance between Sarai Kale Khan and Begumpul in just 55 to 60 minutes, providing great relief to the millions of commuters traveling daily between Delhi, Ghaziabad, and Meerut.

The Segment to Sarai Kale Khan is Ready

The section up to Sarai Kale Khan in Delhi is ready, and currently, the Namo Bharat train is operational from New Ashok Nagar in Delhi to Meerut. During the trial run, journalists from Delhi, Ghaziabad, and Meerut experienced this high-speed travel.

What Are the Stations on the 82 km Corridor?

The train reached Meerut's Begumpul station, where its modern amenities, comfortable seating, air-conditioned coaches, CCTV security, and digital information systems impressed everyone. Key stations on this 82 km corridor include Sarai Kale Khan, New Ashok Nagar, Anand Vihar, Ghaziabad, Guldhar, Muradnagar, Modinagar South, Modinagar North, Meerut South, and Begumpul/Modipuram.

While road travel between Delhi and Meerut usually takes one and a half to two hours, this rapid service will now reduce the journey to under an hour. The Prime Minister will officially inaugurate this service on February 22.
